Ways to Add Color to your Face

If people continuously as you whether you feel okay or you are feeling as though you look like a "vampire" (pale), maybe you need to add a touch of color to your face? Below outlines several options for a natural look that won't leave you having to make excuses about your state of wellness to others.

1---If you want to add a little color to your complexion, but don't want to over do it, you first need a good facial moisturizer. Moisturizing first enables the foundation/mineral powder to adhere more thoroughly.

2--- To find an appropriate color of foundation, go to a department store or somewhere you can actually "test" the colors on your skin. At the jaw line, dab a little bit on. Rub it in. If it blends with your natural skin tone, GET IT! You don't want it lighter or darker than your shade, try getting it as close as possible. There are liquids, mineral powders, and creams available for your convenience; think of your particular likes/dislikes and needs. Mature skin should steer clear of the mineral powders, only because it tends to settle in fine lines, thereby giving your appearance a more aged look. Finding the perfect foundation might take some trial and error. The reason you want the foundation is to have a smooth canvas, not unlike a painter who needs a fresh, clean canvas on which to work. Any makeup that goes on after this will go on more smoothly and evenly. Enough said. Moving on to the next step!

3--- You've got the basics down, now to add some color to your cheeks. Everyone does something different with their blush, but to make it appear as natural as possible, SMILE and apply to the "apples" or roundest part of your cheeks. To give a more "hollowing" effect, dust the blush just UNDER your cheek bones. Don't leave a streak, as that is very 80s and unappealing. BLEND with a neutral, facial powder. Powder is the great eraser; it fixes botched blush errors! Less is more, keep that in mind! No sense looking like Rocky Horror Picture Show "wannabes", that is, unless you are going to that show for the evening!

4--- If you're in a "pinch" for color and without blush, use your lipstick and blend the color into your skin as if it were "cream" blush. Another option is to pinch the apples of your cheeks to bring the blood to the surface and give a quick boost of color! IT honestly works!
